When visiting with a hunting companion last year, I asked her what she would recommend as the best all-around hunting outerwear, because my oldest son was wanting something he could wear both hunting in Missouri and out West. Her suggestion was the Canvasback 4 in 1 parka and pants by Redhead. My son was so pleased with the ensemble that I thought it might be a good suggestion to pass along to my husband as a birthday idea for me. He knows he can never go wrong on any gift for me that has to do with hunting, fishing or just anything to do with the outdoors
The package came in the mail just in time to try out for the Missouri hunting season, and it is incredible. It covers all the bases my friend said that it would do. I got the gear in Mossy Oak Duck Blind, which is an excellent pattern for a wide variety of venues, not just in a duck blind. The coloring in the camo pattern even works for Western states’ terrain.
There are so many pockets and features about the parka that I don’t believe I’ve even found them all yet. The parka is also the Bone Dry trademark material, so it is waterproof, windproof, yet breathable. The following is a list of some of the features:
Three-piece detachable Micro Tricot lined, insulated hood, complete with one-hand adjustable draw cords and soft built in visor.
Large, removable game bag.
Large expandable two-way storage pockets, complete with shell loops in front storage compartment and hidden drainage holes located at bottom of pockets.
Built-in shell holders sewn on camo side chest panels.
Micro Tricot lines hand warmer pockets on both sides of reversing liner.
Water resistant nylon camo reversing to soft micro polyester.
You need to get one for yourself to get the full benefit of what a great piece of hunting gear this is. Or better yet, put it on your wish list. It’s not too late, you know, most guys are infamous for last-minute shopping.~Tammy Ballew
