Tallahassee bait shops ban sales of feathers to women — for fear that they will tie into hair

Feathers used for tying flies are some of the hottest plummage in town these days, and women in Tallahassee are complaining that even if they walk into a bait shop with waders on, they cannot get the feathers. Our blogger, DamselFly Fisher, told us about this trend recently, and also, had the offending feather tied in her hair … before she realized the crime she had committed — contributing to the shortage of good fly feathers for tying.
