We rejoice when our female associates and colleagues get rewards for their work, and Holly Heyser, aka NorCal Cazadora — a shooting, hunting, blogging machine from California — recently announced on her blog that she will be signing on as a columnist over at another of our favorite e-zines, Shotgun Life. Irwin Greenstein and his publication always have been positive about portraying real women that hunt and shoot. We like how Mr. Greenstein doesn’t cater to women in a condescending way or frankly, fru-fru way. No, in fact, the women who write for him are in the field, alongside their counterparts — males and females — and it’s not a big deal. They just do it.
Holly’s new column comes with a catchy name: Butt, Belly, Beak, Bang! You can read why she chose that name at her blogpost.

You know what I love about working for Shotgun Life? I’m not pigeon-holed there as just a chick writer. I asked Irwin what should guide my topic selection, and he said clays and wingshooting, which means I’m speaking to the site’s WHOLE audience.
