Julie G: Holiday gift ideas for on and off the range … under $30

I love this time of year when cold weather sets in and the spirit of giving thrives. If you’re like me, sometimes you get stumped on gift-giving ideas. Here are some suggestions and a few of my favorite things for gifts this holiday season – all under $30!

Yep – I am a hat girl. I think I might even have more hats than my husband. When I signed with Benelli USA this year and started my adventure in 3-Gunnin’, I got to wear a new hat. There aren’t very many shooting visors out there, and none that look cooler than the official visor of Team Benelli 3-Gun.

I may wear my blue Smith & Wesson shirt from Gemini when I compete, but more often than not I am sportin’ my pink Smith & Wesson hat on the pistol range.  The light color keeps my head cool in hot temperatures and it’s oh-so-nice to be pretty in pink!

The awesome Benelli insulated travel mug is next on my list. I bring this baby on the way to go hunt, and every time it has made the trip with me I have either brought home game or seen something awesome. I can’t confirm it, but I think it has special powers. It’s become an old faithful, not unlike my Benelli shotguns.

Talk about a shirt that’s got bang for the buck, for the woman who isn’t afraid of making a loud statement this one says it all! I love this Bang Bang tee from Smith & Wesson.

Being a Montana girl, I believe that belt buckles are a great way to show who you are and what you love. This classic Smith & Wesson buckle is timeless, and it’s a great way to tap into your inner cowboy/cowgirl.

Nothing like keeping the neck and noggin cozy and warm when you’re out hunting. A must-have for the cold weather hunter, the Sherpa beanie and gator from Prois ROCK. With Prois’s Black Friday special savings, you might just want to pick up both and stock up on even more Prois gear!

Of course there’s this book out there I heard some woman wrote about shooting . . . [giggle] Even though my book, Shoot: Your Guide to Shooting and Competition, isn’t available until 2012, you can still have something for under the tree! I am very excited to share a special bookmark offer for the first 500 pre-orders.

Finally, for my last holiday gift suggestion, consider upgrading or purchasing a membership to the National Rifle Association (NRA), volunteering in your community or making a donation to your favorite charity. An organization I am supporting this year that is very special to me is the National Kidney Foundation, in honor of my dad, who has been diagnosed with kidney disease. These are the kinds of gifts that truly keep on giving.

Julie, I love hats too! Just this past weekend while my grandchildren were here, they went into our walk-in closet with hats lined along the top shelf. I pointed to them, this is all of your grandpa’s hats, but these are all mine!!! My row was much longer and some even doubled up. Thanks for all the great gift ideas! And can’t wait to read your new book. Best of luck with that.
