ShootingStarr: Bird hunter battle of the sexes — my side of the story

I thought I was being nice by inviting my Twitter buddy Brian (who runs Ultimate Upland) for a weekend of grouse and woodcock hunting in the Northwoods. Little did I know that he would practically drown me in the swamp, and from that day forward, continue to talk smack about how he’s a better shot.

It’s time to stop the smack talk once and for all. Mid-week during SHOT Show, Brian and I will shoot a round of sporting clays in the desert. To make sure there is a level playing field we will be using two Instinct shotguns that Franchi has been generous enough to lend us. We will have both the Instinct SL in 20 gauge and the color case-hardened Instinct L in 12 gauge.

Brian has some other silly things he wants to do like switching guns, shooting opposite handed and coin tosses. I’m really just going along with the plan so when I beat him, he won’t have anything to complain about. You can read about it in his post about our bird hunter battle of the sexes.

What’s a friendly competition without a wager to sweeten the pot? The winner of our battle will give away 100 rounds of the newly released Winchester TrAAcker shells to a randomly selected female member of Ultimate Upland (if I win) or a male member of Women’s Outdoor News (if Brian wins). And every day for a month the loser must tweet “(Winner’s name here) is my bird hunting hero”.
