Wisconsin Becoming an Outdoors-Woman ‘springs’ into action with workshops

This seems like a good time to remind all of our fans, friends and supporters of our upcoming spring workshops.

Registration is open for a one-day Shiitake Mushroom Growing workshop, April 20, in Waupaca. Learn how to grow your own mushrooms in this hands-on class packed with lots of fungi information. Participants may choose to take home 3 or 6 inoculated logs that will produce mushrooms next spring. (Limited to 10 participants)

Join us for a weekend of  Birding and Wildflower Identification at Wyalusing State Park in May in southwest Wisconsin. Wyalusing is a 2,628-acre state park at the confluence of the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers just south of Prairie du Chien. The park is in the Driftless Area, a portion of territory that remained ice free during the last ice age. (Limited to 20 participants)

Space is still available for the Memorial Day weekend ATV Adventure in northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Learn about safety and trail etiquette while exploring the trails. (Limited to 10 participants)

There are just a couple places available for the Sylvania Wilderness Canoe/Camping Adventure. Don’t miss out on this guided experience in Ottawa National Forest of Michigan, also on Memorial Day weekend. (Limited to 12 participants)

Late spring Fly Fishing at the Rose Farm (Waupaca area) is one of our most popular events, May 31-June 1, which is Free Fishing weekend in Wisconsin so you don’t need to purchase a license. There are just 4 spots available for guided fishing on a Class A trout stream.

Registration for our summer workshops, including For the Love of Loons and Charter Fishing will be opening soon. The Apostle Island Sea Kayaking workshop is open for registration.

There has been a lot of “buzz” about Autumn BOW (formerly Summer BOW) at Treehaven. Details are being finalized. Register early in order to have your best chance at getting your first-choice classes.

Watch our website for upcoming information on the launch of a new workshop for women and girls, Survival Games. This is cooperative learning workshop for girls ages 12-17 and their moms, aunts, big sisters, friends, grandmas, mentors. Participants will learn survival skills, archery, target shooting, and more.
