Save the date for Wisconsin Women Fish Castle Rock Lake ice fishing outing

Date: Sunday, Jan. 14, 2014

Location: Castle Rock Lake

Details via WIWomenFish.com:

Come one come all. Time to hit the ice on Castle Rock Lake. All club members are welcome. Bring your atv’s or your snowmobiles. We may even be able to drive on the ice, but just in case, let’s be prepared. We will be hitting the ice looking for crappie and walleye, or what ever else we can find. Last year we had a lot of success on this water and we hope to be able to land some quality fish.

Our newest club members will be taking the Ice Fishing 101 class the day before and we are inviting them to join us as we fish Castle Rock Lake. There is no fee for this event. The exact launching area has not been determined. If you are self contained and are willing to help scout let me know.

The plan is to have an idea of some hot spots ahead of time and them bring the group to the area we had found fish. I would love to see some new ice anglers find some success in the real life ice fishing situations. I am hoping the veteran members will come along and help to mentor the newest ladies of the club. In the past year there have been several Master Angler fish landed by club members on this body of water.

The key to finding fish on any lake is to GO FISH IT! Reviewing maps, talking to bait shops and hitting the water will help you find success in your ice fishing efforts. Lets set up our own WI Women Fish shanty town and show them how we roll.

We will create a facebook event for this day and would like to have an idea on how many people plan on joining us. Closer to the event, all who plan on attending will be given the meeting location. Stand  by for more information and save the date. Come and help us show these new gals what its all about. Hope to see you there.
