#HuntingwithJR: Dove Season To-Do List

Dove hunting is one of the simplest forms of recreation available to wingshooters, yet getting started can seem complicated for beginners. Before you head afield for these delectable, delicious birds, do these things:

1. Purchase your hunting license for the state you’ll be hunting in
2. Purchase a migratory bird permit
3. Buy several boxes of #7 ½, 8 or 9 shot shells
4. Check over your shotgun to make sure it works; practice beforehand
5. Get a stool or bucket to sit on
6. Purchase a few decoys
7. Find a place to hunt, set out decoys and get some birds
