A record number of women now lead the pack as the “silent majority” of gun owners. The Well Armed Woman remains at the forefront of this movement as a training and educational organization that aims to educate, equip and empower this growing segment of firearms enthusiasts in the U.S.

It can be transformational for a woman to be equipped to protect herself. I tell the leaders that what we do is about more than the gun, it’s about self-confidence. Women are very passionate about their new roles as self-protectors – women are tired of being prey. All women live with the burden of fear, so the ability to level the battlefield we find in everyday life with a gun is extremely liberating,” said Lightfoot.

The media is welcome to meet the chapter leaders and instructors from around the country at conference. Additional speakers and training instructors include Julie Golob, a national and world shooting champion; Steve Fisher of Sentinel Concepts; Cam Edwards, of NRA News Cam & Co.; Alexis Artwhol, Ph.D.,behavioral science consultant to law enforcement; Tori Nonaka, of Team Glock; Matt Jacques, the Victory First Senior Firearms Program Advisor; and Barbara Baird, publisher of the only women-centric news outlet in the country, “Women’s Outdoor News.”

About The Well Armed Woman

The Well Armed Woman CEO, Carrie Lightfoot, founded the organization when she became new to firearms in 2012 because, as she says, “Although I had friends that took me shooting and introduced me to the safe handling of a firearm, there were no supports or resources that answered the questions I had as a woman and that spoke to me respectfully. What I found was both over-sexualized and insulting or it was condescending and spoke to me like a child. I knew there was a need for resources that spoke respectfully to women, one that could help women to navigate the world of firearms in an intelligent and comprehensive manner.

Lightfoot knew there was a void of holsters and products that fit the needs of women gun owners. Today, The Well Armed Woman projects $3 million in sales with The Well Armed Woman inside the waistband, belly band, and outside the waistband convertible holsters for women as the company’s top sellers.

The Well Armed Woman Shooting Chapters is a nonprofit division of the TWAW organization with 10,000 members and more than 300 chapters in the United States.
