Year of the Mule Deer on Winchester Deadly Passion

Watch a sneak peek …

“There are certain states that you get to go to that make you so excited, and for me, that is Arizona,” said Bachman. “The reason is that it is very difficult to draw a tag and when you get that chance you know that it will be an incredible time. It’s not just about the hunt, it’s about making new friends and spot and stalking up on an amazing deer,” said Bachman.

Travis Lyon, Diamond Outfitters Guide, helped to guide Bachman through the Kaibab Plateau. “The Kaibab Plateau is one of the most sought after tags you can have in Arizona,” said Lyon. “The Kaibab Plateau holds a tremendous amount of huge mule deer with a large quantity of quality bucks.”

Bachman had a thrilling hunt in Arizona with the luck of shooting a high-quality buck. She then continued in her journey north and west to Colorado for a bow hunt. In Colorado, Bachman joined up with Joey Menegatti, Story Creek Outfitters.

“A lot of mule deer hunting is spent glassing, looking up on high spots,” said Bachman. “Trying to figure out what these deer are doing and where they are going. This way you know where to make your stop.”

The Colorado hunt was a little more difficult. Bachman and Menegatti were putting in the time and miles to track down and get a perfect sighting on a buck. As the hunt was coming to an end, they spotted a nice group of bucks.

Bachman continued in her journey to the middle of Nebraska where Bachman and her guides spot and stalked for monster muleys. “I was able to get to full draw at 40 yards with my Mathews bow, but he ended up getting the better of me,” said Bachman.

Where will Bachman’s hunting journey lead her next? Tune in to Sportsman Channel Sundays at 11:30 am ET to find out!
