The managing editor at Women’s Outdoor News, Britney Starr is a native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Britney has participated in hunting and shooting sports for her entire life. She is currently part owner, client services representative, and social media manager of Starr & Bodill African Safaris. She enjoys working side by side with her father and licensed Professional Hunter, Dwaine Starr, to provide their clients with a worry free safari. Along with editorial at The WON, she also pens the column “ShootingStarr”, as well as managing social media updates and weekly newsletter production. She also works closely with Barbara Baird, and is presently writing a series on women gun bloggers.
Britney received a Bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2008 from Western Michigan University and when she is not helping her clients achieve their dream of hunting in Africa, she writes about her own hunting experiences. Along with big game hunting in Africa, Britney also hunts turkey, white tail deer, waterfowl and upland bird. She is also involved in two local shooting clubs and enjoys shooting sporting clays, trap and skeet. Britney is involved in many outdoor-based organizations, including Safari Club International, National Rifle Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Hunt For A Cure, and US Sportsmen’s Alliance. Britney truly has an affinity for all things outdoors and strives to connect with and empower other women that share her love of hunting or are interested in becoming more involved in the outdoors. Britney is also on the field-staff for Prois Hunting & Field Apparel.
