Kristen Monroe began her career working for Bast Durbin selling advertisements for the outdoors industry in 2007. Although she has always loved being outdoors it wasn’t until just recently that she finally put her dreams into action. Kristen has learned how to whitetail bowhunt, shoot a hand gun, and pheasant hunt in one year. The next year she learned how to snow goose hunt, turkey and duck hunt. She plans to explore all different kinds of hunting throughout her life and write about her new experiences. As a mother of two, her children helped motivate her to learn the sport. She believes hunting and fishing are great ways to stay connected to your family. She is truly passionate about escalating the sport of hunting.
Not only does she talk about it she is actually doing something about it. Besides her hunting goal, she also has interviewed more than 60 different women to find out why and how they began so she can inspire others to “get the women in your life involved in hunting.” Kristen currently writes for Outdoor News Publications in an outdoor blog called Pass It On. She also gives motivational speeches to encourage others to spend more time outdoors. She is a member of The Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers, National Rifle Association, Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, Illinois Rifle Association and The Women’s Outdoor Media Association.
