Nancy Jo Adams, aka “Guru Huntress,” is a NALA-certified legal assistant/paralegal with an extensive background in research and writing. She previously published numerous articles as a staff-writer in Woman Hunter Magazine, freelances for other media sources and is a dedicated blogger at Shenanigans From the Field.
Growing up an avid competitive equestrian not only inspired her love for the outdoors; it cultivated her competitive nature and instilled perseverance. Through the encouragement and mentoring of her husband, Richard, she began hunting in the fall of 2006 and has successfully harvested various game with a rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader and compound bow. She not only enjoys hunting, she participates in shooting sports like 3-D archery, sporting clays and other activities such as outdoor photography and videography.
She is a member of various hunting organizations, including NWTF/WITO, QDMA, and Bowhunters of Alabama. Nancy Jo’s inquisitive and analytical nature inspires her to research things of interest with an unbiased point of view. With her broad research skills, her work as an advocate for women hunters and her ethical values, she has become a successful woman hunter and encourages other women to step into the outdoors.
