LPGA women compete in fly-fishing competition

Two pro-golfers competed in a fly-fishing contest recently between golf tournaments in Europe. Representing the USA, Rosie Jones and  Christina Kim exchanged clubs for fly rods at Killeen Castle and took on Team Europe. Read Ryan Ballengee’s account here or see the women at the YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0cbjkvd-qI&feature=player_embedded

By the way, Ryan, you might want to “bone up” on fishing terms for future reference. To compare fly-fishing to bassing is like saying the gals can easily adapt from swinging a golf club to using a polo mallet.

Masters-Women’s Open double in the last two weeks.  Many of the ladies entered the Ladies European Tour’s Irish Open at Killeen Castle because that is where next year’s Solheim Cup will be contested (and it also pushes off the effects of jet lag for another week).

Since the LET is a little more laid back and the Solheim Cup is close by, what better way to promote both than a fishing contest?  Just follow me here.
