Babbs in the Woods: The mother-of-the-bride wore a beige bikini

We’re planning an outdoor wedding in Belize. Our daughter is marrying Camo Mom’s son, a Marine who is studying to be a wildlife biologist. Camo Mom and I are wondering what to wear to a wedding on a pier, and we’re also thinking about going fishing while we’re on the island. And, we’re going back to Weight Watchers to bust off the last 10-15 pounds before going dress shopping later this fall. Jokingly, we decided we’d tease about wearing mother-of-the-bride (or groom) bikinis. I’m wearing beige and I think she’d look groovy in turquoise. However, if the whole busting it off before the big date doesn’t go as planned, we may be wearing tankinis. However, under no circumstances will we be in camo Muu Muus.

Got any suggestions?

OK, who’d a thought so many people would be titillated by this post?

Paige — yes, I noticed that. I’m thinking maybe I need to fast instead of diet.

Jim — How can I forget? And, is that really you sitting on that bucket?

Beth N. — Let us know what lofty goals you set!

Tammy — I’ll buy the first one.

I like the umbrella layering idea for the coconut shell drink. 🙂 My thinking on the shorts was to cover up any hail damage that doesn’t get toned between now and then!

You go girls! Good luck with your goals. I need to set some for myself!

Hey, did you notice the only sizes available for that beige bikini are Small and Xtra Small????????

Hey Sara … thanks for noticing the strings and triangles’ thing. Hadn’t thought of that. Maybe coconuts with a beige bottom?

Tammy … be a sport. But the layering does sound good. I’m going to layer my first coconut shell drink with an umbrella.

Barb, I can tell you right now it’s not going to be a bikini for me. There’s not near enough strings on that thing. And you’re right, the camo moo-moo (that’s what I’d look like in one of those too) is out. Soooo, it’s probably going to be a tankini for me. And I even like those with the shorts you can wear with them. I’m thinking of just layering up like when I go hunting, that way I can take off what I don’t need as I feel more comfortable!

Ummm, the only advice I can give you is I wouldn’t go with that style of bikini. It has that string between the breasts. In my experience, the triangles get spread out and things get a little weird. It could look like you have a lazy eye…you know what I mean 🙂 On second thought, if you drink enough it probably won’t bother you.

    Be sure to take pictures.
