Jamie Beyerle wins gold medal in Women's 50M Rifle Three Position

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.– At the 2010 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final for rifle and pistol, the USA delegation put on a solid performance with three medals and six finals appearances. … In the Women’s 10m Air Rifle event, Jamie Beyerle (Lebanon, Pa.) won a bronze medal with 396 match points and a strong final of 103.2 points, for 499.2 total points. Beyerle entered the final in the lower half of the field and shot her way up with outstanding 10.7s and 10.6s. Tied with Italy’s Elani Nardelli for the bronze medal, Beyerle smoked her competition with a 10.5 point single shot shoot-off to Nardelli’s 9.8 point shot. Teammate and Olympic Training Center Resident Athlete Amy Sowash (Richmond, Ky.) finished eighth with 102.6 points in the final for 492.6 total points.

The day after her first medal, Beyerle won the gold medal in Women’s 50m Rifle Three Position. During the match, Beyerle shot an amazing 590 points to qualify in first place for the finals. Serbia’s Lidjia Mihajlovec, was tied with Beyerle entering the final, but fired a 7.7 point on her fourth shot. Beyerle was on top of her game as she fired an impressive 100.7 points in the final to win the competition with 690.7 total points.
