'Straight-A Shooters' features female MIT student

Kudos to the Boston Globe’s coverage of Alexandra Jiang and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Women’s Sport Pistol Club. MIT’s pistol courses fill the requirement for physical education necessary for graduation. The coach, Will Hart, breaks down the shooting sports in terms of appeal to intelligent, left-brain engineering types, and he also does a great job of expounding on the difference between target shooting and what happened in Tucson. We think you’ll like this read, and we wish there were more journalists who looked for this positive side of the shooting sports. Great post!

FYI, the print version appeared in The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, published February 6.

The Globe in recent years has not generally been considered a “firearms-friendly” newspaper, nor Cambridge, Massachusetts (home of MIT and Harvard) a firearms-friendly city.

Indeed, kudos to The Globe for publishing this story.
