Kim Carver named CEO of World Fishing Network

DENVER – World Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers, has announced that Kim Carver has been named President & CEO of World Fishing Network LLC (“WFN”). She had been serving in the same capacity on an interim basis since last October.

WFN is jointly owned by Insight Sports Ltd., headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, and Altitude Sports & Entertainment, headquartered in suburban Denver, Colorado.

“When I stepped into this role eight months ago, I said at the time that I was excited to guide WFN. That excitement has never wavered. In fact, it’s grown,” said Carver. “I’m looking forward to help drive the reach of WFN throughout North America and the Caribbean and establish WFN as the leader in the fishing and outdoor lifestyle space.”

Carver is concurrently President & CEO of Altitude Sports & Entertainment. Her responsibilities at WFN will mirror those at Altitude, where she oversees network operations including the network’s business initiatives, marketing, sales and distribution efforts, programming, production and digital media.

About Kim Carver

Denver native Kim Carver was tapped in November 2011 as the new President and CEO of Altitude Sports and Entertainment. A 24-year veteran of the television and broadcasting industry, Carver has successfully launched, grown and managed a myriad of international television networks and sports programming ventures, starting at STAR Television in Hong Kong in 1991. In 1995, she accepted a new role as the program manager for GALAXY Television’s Premier Sports Network in Sydney, Australia, establishing herself as one of the top managers in the sports broadcasting industry while launching several FOX networks under the FOXTEL banner and later taking the reins of Main Event Television as the network’s general manager. She was tapped vice president of network presentation for ESPN STAR Sports in Singapore in 2004 before returning to the United States in 2006 to launch The Mtn. – MountainWest Sports Network. Carver and her team had the task of taking a pioneering concept of creating the first television network dedicated to a single college athletic conference and launching it in the span of six weeks. The Mtn. premiered on September 1, 2006.
