Beretta U.S.A. signs Kim Rhode — 5-time Olympic Medalist and World Champion

ACCOKEEK, MD (August 2, 2013) Beretta USA announces the latest addition to its competition shotgun team – Kim Rhode, 5-time Olympic medalist!  Rhode’s Olympic career began in 1996 at the age of 17 by winning gold and in 2012, with her third gold medal, became the first American in any individual sport to win five consecutive medals; a silver and a bronze completes the collection.  She claimed the 2012 gold medal by hitting 99 of 100 targets, a feat she hopes to best with the support of her new team and her Beretta DT11.

Rhode’s love for shooting began at age seven while dove hunting with her family in Yuma, Arizona, where she shot her first limit of doves, by herself. At age 10 Kim began shooting competitively and by 13 she had become the youngest ever Ladies World Champion in American Skeet. Her list of accomplishments is far longer than the barrels of her new DT11 including; fourteen-time National Champion, a World Champion, World Cup Champion, PanAm Games Champion and CAT Champion. She has collected thirteen individual World Cup gold medals but Kim’s dedication to the sport she loves has never wavered, and she plans to compete “for another four or five Olympics.”

“We are extremely honored and excited to welcome Kim Rhode to Team Beretta! Kim has established herself as the world’s best female shooter as evident by her five Olympic medals; but equally important she is a great ambassador to the shooting sports. Her involvement with youth shooting initiatives and giving back to the industry sets a great example for all of us,” said Ryan Muety, Vice President of Brand & Channel Marketing. “We look forward to helping Kim accomplish her goals as we do with all of our Team Beretta shooters; a team that is now the best competitive shooting team in the world.”

“I’m thrilled to become part of the Beretta family,” said Kim Rhode. “A love of shooting and the outdoors has been passed down for generations in my own family just like it has at Beretta for 500 years.  With the recent birth of my son, it’s a tradition I look forward to passing on to the next generation.  At the Olympic Games in London I was fortunate to hit 99 out of 100, and with the help of Beretta, and my new DT11, I intend to get that one that got away next time in Rio 2016!”

Kim’s debut as a member of Team Beretta happens this weekend as she competes in the 2013 USAShooting Shotgun National Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado. “Good Luck Kim” from Beretta USA and your new teammates!
