Comp-Tac’s Randi Rogers takes first Limited title of the season at Area 8

HOUSTON, Texas – Comp-Tac Victory Gear‘s Randi Rogers won her first Ladies Limited title of the 2013 season at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 8 Championship held this past weekend in North Versailles, PA.

For Rogers, who maintains the most diverse shooting schedule of any competition shooter, the Area 8 Championship was her first foray into Limited division competition this season. Already this season Rogers has competed in USPSA, IDPA, IPSC, Steel Challenge, ProAm and SASS and over the course of her career has amassed numerous world and national titles in these sports. In addition to winning the Ladies Limited championship at Area 8, Rogers finished 11th overall out of 73 Limited division competitors with a 77.82%.

“The end of the 2013 season offers an exciting line up of matches including six national championships. Since this was my first Limited division test of the season, I took a chance and went into the match to evaluate my skills, looking for opportunities to improve before the upcoming Nationals,” commented Randi Rogers.

“While I did find many places to improve my shooting skills, I was fortunate to also walk away with the title making this an especially rewarding learning opportunity. I am really looking forward to taking what I learned at Area 8 into Nationals, and of course hoping for a similar outcome.”

Throughout the 10 stage course of fire competitors faced moving targets, shooting on the move, one handed standards and a wide variety of target placement making the Area 8 championship a challenging test of shooting skills for its participants.

Competing with Rogers at Area 8 was fellow Team Comp-Tac member Gordon Carrell who finished Third Master and ninth overall in the Production division. Comp-Tac also supported the Area 8 Championship as one of its corporate sponsors.

“With Randi and Gordon representing Team Comp-Tac in a variety of matches around the country, Comp-Tac is able to develop new products and refine existing products to better serve the needs of our customers. Each match offers Comp-Tac valuable insights as to how our equipment is used,” explained Gregg Garrett, President and Owner of Comp-Tac Victory Gear.

Next up for Team Comp-Tac, Rogers will compete in the Rockcastle AR15 3Gun ProAm in Park City, KY August 24-26.
