Shotgun Life Women: Shooting tips from Deborah McKown

Does recoil from your shotgun cause bruises on your bicep? That’s because the stock is too long. With the correct Length of Pull (LOP), the recoil pad should naturally fit in the soft area between your shoulder and chest, known as the pocket. In addition to eliminating the discomfort, the proper LOP will improve swing, balance and target focus. Wing and clays shooting is supposed to be fun, not painful. If you feel anything more than a push from the gun after the shot is fired, visit a stock fitter.
