Learn to ice fish with WI Women Fish. We invite you to join us in our Ice Fishing 101 class, from Fri., Jan. 15 to Sun., Jan. 18, on Castle Rock Lack in Mauston, Wis.

We can teach you everything you need to know to learn to Ice Fish. No prior fishing experience is required. We teach you how to stay warm, how to use all the latest equipment, including ice augers, pop up shacks, heaters camera, and electronic units. We will teach fishing techniques, how to find fish. and most importantly, how to stay safe on the ice.

We use top of the line equipment from Clam, the largest Ice Fishing Company in the world. We have several styles of Ice Shacks, rod and reel combos and the latest in tackle developments. In addition to the advancements in clothing and shack’s, jigs and spoons have also been refined with subtle details that make them irresistible to fish. I met with Dave Genz, known as the Father of modern Ice Fishing, and learned some new techniques to share with you. People who register for this class, will receive a discount on Clam merchandise.

We have an entire weekend of activities planned. We start on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. We delayed the start this year to allow time for people to drive in that morning. We also found that the crappie bite really turns on, right before dark, so we want to be in place to partake in the hot bite action. Big Pike are also caught on this lake.
