3 Unspoken Rules of Target Shooting Clubs for New Shooters

This week’s featured blogger, Sarah Jane Jacob, shares some shooting etiquette that crosses over to any discipline in her blog, “Gun Girl Down Under.”

I remember the first ever time I rocked up to a target shooting range – not that many years ago! I had never even so much as touched a firearm before, so I had no idea what to expect, or what was expected of me. Happily, I was greeted by a group of friendly, welcoming shooters, who were genuinely pleased to have me there, and were eager to share their knowledge (and their ammo!).

Even so, as a new member of a shooting club, it took me a while to learn range etiquette. As welcoming as my new shooting friends were, the culture of the shooting community was completely foreign to me.

So, for the benefit of anyone who is new to shooting, or is thinking about giving it a try, I’ve jotted down a few things that I’ve learned on my journey, that will guarantee you are greeted with smiles from your fellow shooters each and every time you arrive at the range.
