Wiley X Eyewear to donate from each pair of Lacey sunglasses to Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 2010

Wiley X® is proud to announce that for the entire year of 2010, it will donate $2.50 from the sale of each non-polarized pair of its popular Lacey sunglasses and $3.50 from each polarized pair of the line to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

This official partnership will start January 1, 2010, and will be supported through Wiley X’s extensive US dealer network. Each pair of Wiley X Lacey sunglasses will sport a signature BCRF Pink Ribbon cling sticker on the lens, to raise awareness of the organization’s efforts to find a cure.

WILEYX_LACEY_HRThe Wiley X Lacey sunglasses are a perfect vehicle for this important message, as the sunglasses sport Coral Pink lenses and a distinct, pink Cotton Candy colored frame to meld seamlessly with the recognized hue affiliated with breast cancer awareness.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide. A minimum of 85 cents of each dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to breast cancer research and awareness programs.

“We’re fortunate that our Laceys have gained such widespread popularity, and we are honored to have the chance to partner with such a successful, well respected organization like BCRF in this fight for a cure,” says Myles Freeman, President of Sales for Wiley X. “This is a chance for us to do our part in raising money and awareness, and this worthy cause deserves our attention and our efforts to make a difference.”

Wiley X has a long history of taking an active role in changing the world for the better, with its glasses providing High Velocity Protection (HVP) for the likes of Special Ops, members of law enforcement, and US troops at home and abroad, in addition to protecting the faces of enthusiasts in a wide range of outdoor sports and activities.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. In October 2009, nearly $29 million will be awarded to 171 scientists across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. BCRF perseveres in directing at least 85 cents of every dollar raised directly to research. And for the eighth consecutive year, BCRF received Charity Navigator’s highest rating, four stars, thus outperforming over 99.8% of the 5,400 evaluated charities, while the American Institute of Philanthropy has awarded BCRF its highest possible rating of A+. BCRF is the only breast cancer organization in the U.S. to receive these accolades. For more information about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org.
