Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, California (BOW) is again offering the popular fly fishing clinic at Indian Creek Lodge, March 18-20, 2011. Last year’s clinic was a howling success. Learning to fly fishing on the beautiful, wild and scenic Trinity River at Indian Creek Lodge is an experience not to be missed. The first session will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday. Check in begins at 11:00 am. The clinic ends Sunday after lunch.

Indian Creek Lodge in Douglas City near Weaverville, less than an hour west of Redding, is hosting this spectacular opportunity to learn the basics of fly fishing and give you the opportunity to fish the Trinity River. Indian Creek Lodge (www.iclodge.net) offers modern and comfortable accommodations with that rich, mountain style. Rooms accommodate 2-3 persons and offer private bathrooms, kitchenettes with microwaves, refrigerators and coffeemakers. BOW will provide dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings. You are responsible for your breakfasts and lunches.

Instructors will provide individual attention. This comprehensive workshop covers all of the basics of fly fishing; casting, reading the water, entomology, conservation, fly tying, knots, landing and releasing and plenty of hands-on practice. This workshop has room for both beginners and intermediates. All fishing equipment will be provided.

Friday evening, March 18th Liam Gogan, proprietor of Trinity River Outfitters, will give a short presentation and answer questions on the subject of “Tips for Fishing the Trinity River”. Then Mmmmmmm Beer! Come join the delicious beer and food tasting and pairing event presented by Women Enjoying Beer (WEB). Unwind in great company and learn how to smell, taste and savor your beer. We’ll do multi flight beer tastings paired with complementary foods to awaken and please your taste buds. This incredible opportunity will be offered to those who have the desire to participate for only $20. Payment will be accepted at the event.

Women Enjoying Beer is the industry leader of educating women about beer, conducting events and research to make the female beer consumer be heard. WEB’s efforts assist the beer industry in sustainable growth and progress. Cheers to Women & Beer!

Saturday evening, March 19th, Alpen Cellars Winery will present a wine tasting for the group.
