Wiley X Inc. supports Breast Cancer Awareness month through sales of Lacey sunglasses

This October, Wiley X®, Inc. will once again be supporting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) in its worldwide effort to raise awareness of breast cancer and fund the search for a cure to this disease that impacts the lives of so many women and families. For 27 years, the BCRF has engaged in a month-long fall campaign designed to open people’s eyes to this disease, educate women about the need for early detection, and focus the world on finding a cure.

Corporate supporters like premium protective eyewear manufacturer Wiley X play an important role in helping the BCRF spread its message and work towards its ultimate goal of finding a cure. This annual, month-long awareness and education campaign is recognized worldwide for its pink creative elements — especially the iconic ‘Pink Ribbon” which has come to stand for the fight against breast cancer.

Wiley X is doing its part to raise awareness — as well as much needed funding — for this important cause. The cause is so important to Wiley X, the company developed its Lacey™ sunglasses for women and donates $3 to BCRF for each pair it sells throughout the year. This stylish sunglass has quickly become one of the company’s top sellers, thanks to its unique Cotton Candy colored frames and a choice of Coral Pink or Polarized Bronze lenses. Each pair of Lacey sunglasses also comes with a BCRF Pink Ribbon sticker to raise awareness of this organization and the need to support its efforts all year long.

The Wiley X Lacey offers women protection that goes far beyond the harmful rays of the sun. Wiley X is the only premium performance sunglass brand whose entire line meets stringent ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Velocity and High Mass Impact Safety Standards, ensuring protection against a range of hazards encountered in the outdoors.

“Supporting worthwhile causes is an important part of our company’s vision for the future,” said Wiley X Co-Owner Myles Freeman, Jr. “We are proud of our association with the BCRF and the funds we’ve been able to raise and donate through the sale of our special Lacey sunglasses. Women everywhere who purchase our Lacey can take pride in the fact that they’re not only getting a great pair of stylish, protective glasses, they’re also supporting a great and vital cause,” added Freeman.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. In 2011, BCRF awarded $36.5 million to scientists across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and China. Currently, more than 90 cents of every dollar donated is directed to breast cancer research and awareness programs. With exceptionally low administrative costs, BCRF continues to be one of the most efficient organizations in the country and is designated an “A+” charity by The American Institute of Philanthropy, the only cancer organization to achieve this.
