International Women’s Fishing Association — a great source for camaraderie and conservation

Established in 1955, the International Women’s Fishing Association (IWFA) is now one of the leading fishing clubs for female anglers. The IWFA focuses on conservation, promotes angling competition among women of all ages and provides education opportunities through scholarships.

In 2004, The IWFA adopted the International Game Fish Association species list allowing its members the opportunity to compete in their own backyards. All IWFA club tournaments are “catch and release.”

Take a Girl Fishing program

The IWFA boasts its Take a Girl Fishing program, during which, members can share their love of fishing by inviting a young female to join them on the water. There is no entry fee associated with this event and participants can fish for any species on the IWFA list.
