Now in its eighth season on Outdoor Channel, “Western Extreme” follows Jim Burnworth on big game hunts all over the world. The rifle and bow hunter keeps viewers entertained on adventures throughout Alaska, Canada, Mexico, North America and South Africa, featuring his family and special guest appearances from the likes of Ted Nugent, Keith Mark, Ray Bunney and more.
On this week’s episode, Jim is joined by Senator Slade Blackwell and his wife, Sally Salter-Blackwell. The trio head to the Republic of South Africa on Sally’s first-ever hunt during which she downs a zebra at 550 yards – an absolutely remarkable shot for a first-time hunter!
Longtime hunting friends, Senator Blackwell and Jim were accompanied by Sally on the South African adventure. She began the trip not certain whether she’d be hunting at all. After a detailed instructional session with Jim showing her exactly where to target her shot and going over the handling of the rifle and scope, she hit the perfect shot. Senator Blackwell didn’t do too bad either as he takes a nice blesbok antelope in the episode as well.
Riding high off its recent Golden Moose Awards nominations for best deer, shooting and education TV series, “Western Extreme” and Jim Burnworth are back for a powerful new season.
Tune in to catch the episode on Saturday, July 13th at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT. Exclusively on Outdoor Channel!
