MINNETONKA, MN — Nebraska is no stranger to monster muleys – and Melissa Bachman, host of Winchester Deadly Passion, can’t get enough of spot and stalk hunts in this state. This week, she heads out with long-time friend Scott Kuhn of Deer Meadow Outfitters to see if she can fill her freezer with a mule deer. Tune in for an all-new episode of Winchester Deadly Passion on Sportsman Channel Sundays at 11:30 a.m. ET.
“When it comes to mule deer, my absolute favorite place to hunt is Nebraska,” Bachman shared. “As per usual, Scott and I put in a lot of work to find our buck.”
Nebraska offers the unique opportunity to get one buck with a bow and one with a rifle. This gives Bachman the chance to try something new by bringing her Mission Sub 1 Crossbow. After working hard during archery season, Melissa is back during the peak of the rut with her rifle.
“I knew this year I would have another chance if I needed it; it just came down to me making that shot,” said Bachman. On the rifle hunt Bachman uses a Winchester XPR and immediately finds her buck. “We were able to get around a buck that we singled out with the wind in our favor,” Kuhn shared. He and Bachman climb a knoll and set up quickly for the shot.
Every good hunter needs a solid role model, and Melissa Bachman, host of Winchester Deadly Passion, fits that bill perfectly with a unique ability to share her love for hunting with passionate fans and viewers.
