Retro WON: Baby Gear for Bowhunters and Archers

If you are an archer or bowhunter and expecting a baby, you are in luck! From onesies to cribs to nursery decor, parents have more options than ever before to show the world their archery pride while caring for their newborns. Arrows are trendy now, so why not save yourself from the world of baby gear saturated with giraffes, monkeys and bears and create a space that reflects your love of the outdoors and what you hope to instill in your child?

I’ve been a fan of combining archery and baby stuff since my husband and I hosted a Facebook Live archery trick shot gender reveal for our first baby back in February. Since then I’ve been gathering ideas and baby gear that express my love for bows and arrows. Interested in expressing your love for archery via baby gear? Here are a few of my favorite archery baby finds:

bowhunting archery baby gear

This baby carrier is perfect for front or back carry – just add baby!

Baby Carrier

Tula Baby Carrier in “Archer” (MSRP: $149.00)

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, “‘Baby-wearing’ is recommended not just as a response to crying, but to prevent crying and promote parent-infant attachment and the baby’s development.” Baby carrying options abound, from wraps to hiking backpacks. One middle-ground option is the Tula Baby Carrier, which is a soft-structured carrier available in a variety of fabric patterns. My personal favorite is “Archer,” which features a pattern of white stylized arrows on the part of the carrier where the baby sits. I’m looking forward to several walks and maybe even some archery range outings with my baby in this carrier.

bowhunting archery baby gear outfits

Baby outfits are a great way to express your love for archery and bowhunting!

Plenty of Archery-Themed Onesies and Bibs

(MSRP: varied)

Every baby’s got to wear something, so why not dress your baby for archery success? Thanks to my wonderful friends and coworkers, this baby is set with a bunch of super cute onesies and bibs that are archery and bowhunting themed. My favorites include “Camo Baby” and “Got Archery?” as well as a super cute deer-themed outfit for my future bowhunter. These outfits are available on Amazon, at Bass Pro Shops and at Babies R Us.

bowhunting archery baby gear sheets

This sheet set featuring multi-colored arrows goes with an archery-themed Pack ‘N Play portable baby playard.

Portable Playard

Graco Pack ’N Play in Etho (MSRP: $99.99)

The portable “playard” (aka “Pack and Play” aka “travel crib”) was a must-have recommendation for my baby registry. So I jumped for joy when I saw an option that featured arrows. The Graco Pack ’N Play Playard in “Etho” features arrows all over it! And you can even order spare sheets to match. This pattern is only available in the LX model that has a reversible “napping station” and diaper changing table. The Pack ’N Play is something for parents to take on the road or anywhere else a nursery is not available to them, so this item will get lots of use for the archery-loving parents of new babies.

bowhunting archery baby gear blankets

These cotton muslin blankets with “Be Brave, Little One” on them are an adorable way to share archery love and encouragement with your baby.

Baby Blankets

Aden and Anais Swaddle Blanket 4-Pack in “Brave Little One” (MSRP: $34.99)

These cotton muslin blankets are super lightweight and super cute, featuring arrows and the phrase “Brave Little One” on one of the blankets and a wily fox on another. A couple friends recommended the Aden and Anais blankets because of their cute patterns and “feather” weight (see what I did there, fellow fletchers?). This arrow- and outdoor-themed blanket set was too cute for this archer to pass up.

bowhunting archery baby gear

The arrows on this hip-safe “swaddle sack” point your baby in the direction of a lifelong love of archery, while helping your little one sleep better.

Swaddlers

NoJo Just Swaddled 3-Pack in “Fearless” (MSRP: $34.99)

If swaddle blankets aren’t your thing, then this pack of arrow- and feather-printed swaddle sacks might be more to your liking. The Velcro on these sacks gives parents a simplified way to get the benefits of swaddling, which “decreases startling and increases sleep,” according to Dr. Harvey Karp, author of Happiest Baby on the Block. I love that these are cute, but still very functional, all while showing off my love for archery.

Baby Gear

There are lots more options out there for the parent of a neophyte toxophilite (newborn archery lover in English), but this list should help get any archery-themed baby gear registry flying in the right direction.
