Traeger Carne Asada Recipe

Ingredients Needed

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1.5-pound flank or skirt steak

How to Make Traeger Carne Asada

Carne Asada
  1. Add the olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt, pepper, chili powder, lime juice, and chopped cilantro to a mixing bowl and whisk to combine. 
  2. Transfer to a marinating bag (or zip lock bag) and add the flank steak. Massage the marinade into the steak and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes. 
  3. Preheat the Traeger to 250 degrees F. 
  4. Remove the flank steak from the marinade and place it onto the grill. Slow cook for 45 minutes on a high smoke setting. 
  5. Remove the steak from the grill and increase the temperature to 450 degrees F. Once hot, add the steak back to the grill to sear for 2 minutes per side. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes. Then slice and serve.
