Officers enjoyed a block of training in the mat room working on defensive tactics skills. They also earned training hours with blocks on handgun, force-on-force, breaching, and more, in addition to building powerful networks of sisterhood and mentorship within the law enforcement community.

Hosted by A Girl & A Gun (AG & AG) as part of its #GivingBack mission, this milestone event delivered high-intensity, reality-based training designed to enhance the skills, mindset, and leadership of women who protect and serve. Officers earned training hours, sharpened their firearms and defensive tactics skills, and built powerful networks of sisterhood and mentorship within the law enforcement community.

The event’s Title Sponsor was GLOCK, a trusted name on duty belts around the world. Federal Premium and Black Hills Ammunition powered the training, while Axle provided premium targets. Event support came from Walther, Magpul, Wiley X, and Walker’s, and training was provided by the Round Rock Police Department. Additional partners US Law Shield, Hunters HD Gold, TMPA, and A Girl & A Gun chapters nationwide helped make this premier event possible.

Robyn Sandoval, President & CEO of A Girl & A Gun, shared,
“Every year, this event reminds me why we do what we do. These women in blue are warriors, protectors of their communities, and mentors to the next generation. Our goal is to give them the best training, the strongest support network, and a place to recharge among peers who understand the mission. It’s an honor to serve those who serve.”

The impact of the event was felt across the range, with participants describing it as both empowering and career-defining.

Detective Wendy O’Neal, Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles, said,
“I’m so thankful for this opportunity. The instructors were top-notch, and the care and love they have for teaching were displayed every day in their actions and instruction. I’m blessed to be a part of getting training not usually provided, definitely not for just women. It was an honor.”

Officer Amanda Van Hook, Lake Stevens (WA) Police Department, added,
“Being provided the opportunity to attend this training, which was provided by A Girl & A Gun and hosted by the Round Rock PD, was career changing. Everything that was put together for us this week was thoroughly thought out, planned, and dedicated to women and the work we do in this field. I am so thankful to have been given this opportunity and excited to take what I learned back to my department to continue the great work that was instilled in us this week.”
