Revisited: My PCS Story – Morgan & Mason, 2Girls Hunting

Morgan and Mason Baseley, of 2Girls Hunting, are twins with bonds beyond blood. They’ve made a robust name for themselves and women alike in the hunting and shooting world peddling adventure and safety. Morgan and Mason are staunch believers in the Project ChildSafe mission and have their father and grandfathers to thank for their appreciation and respect for firearms. To this day, their paths wind around firearms respect, ownership and security.

While Morgan and Mason are braving the tumultuous waters of adulthood and their public identity apart from the hunting and shooting eye, their message is as sound now as it was on the heels of their upbringing. Safety is non-negotiable, first priority and an enduring variable.

Keeping firearms – in the words of Morgan and Mason – “out of sight, out of mind,” reinforces the ease in which guns can remain a part of a household’s culture without disrupting the comings and goings of friends and family. Firearms can passively be secured in a safe with the oversight of adults and can quietly rest, uninhibited by moisture, with key features like dehumidifiers.

Making accessibility and safety can be easy. Practicing proper gun safety on a daily basis stems from a firm parental dictum that “guns are not toys.” Morgan and Mason allude to a different aspect of safety by suggesting that an increased familiarity with handling and cleaning makes garnering respect for firearms a deliberate act.

My PCS Story: Morgan & Mason, 2Girls Hunting

When they think back to their earliest recollections of hunting, Morgan remembers duck hunting with her father and grandfather, at about 5-years old. “I remember being pretty cold, so I was sitting in the boat bundled up, examining a mallard drake that my dad got earlier in the morning. I remember the green head and how pretty he looked.”

“Growing up on a duck hunting club, we spent many cold winter weekends in the tules. I remember hearing the birds and watching the dog work. Also, I remember dove hunting with my dad and both grandpas … we made pretty good retrievers!” added Mason.
