In July of 2025, CCW Safe, a national leader in self-defense legal services, acquired the Armed Citizens’ Legal Defense Network, Inc. (ACLDN). Since that acquisition, some former ACLDN members have reached out to the folks at CCW Safe with questions about coverage and renewals. Stan Campbell, co-founder and COO of CCW Safe, along with CCW Safe president Kent Brown, went into depth answering some of the frequently asked questions from these members.
The following information pertains to all ACLDN accounts, except for those in New York, New Jersey and Washington. In August of 2025, you should have received an email on the login procedure. Previous ACLDN members can log in to the CCW Safe website using the same email they used for the ACLDN website to check their account status. You MUST log into the CCW Safe system at least once to set up your account payment method. If you are having trouble, please reach out to the CCW Safe Support Line at 1-855-639-2297, Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Central.
CCW Safe sends an electronic notice 10 days before renewal, which occurs at the end of the month. If you have a payment method within the CCW Safe system, it will automatically renew after those 10 days (at the end of the month). For those who have not yet added an automatic payment method, you will also receive additional friendly reminders during the 10-day notice period.
If the renewal doesn’t process, you will receive an email notification. This will happen if no payment method is set up or if the existing one doesn’t work (for instance, when a new credit card is sent out after one is compromised). This is easily resolved by logging in to your CCW Safe account and updating or adding a payment method. Then, the renewal will be processed.
It’s important to note that when a payment fails, your subscription status changes from “active” to “on hold.” Unfortunately, if an emergency occurs during this time and CCW Safe’s services are needed, your status must also be addressed. During these stressful moments, that is the last thing you want to be concerned about. Instead, make sure you keep your account in good standing so CCW Safe can provide you with the appropriate resources during an emergency.
For former ADLDN members with multi-year subscriptions, once your current contract expires, you will automatically renew to an annual subscription. However, as mentioned above, make sure you log in to the CCW Safe website now to set up your payment method, regardless of when your renewal is scheduled.
If you don’t want it to renew, you can log into your account (or call CCW Safe) and cancel your membership before an automatic renewal occurs.

Emergency Hotline access can be found on the card and keychain tags that were mailed in July. If you need a new one, reach out to CCW Safe. You may also want to add this phone number to your phone with the name CCW Safe Emergency.
If you are having any issues with CCW Safe’s renewal process, please reach out to the CCW Safe Support Line at 1-855-639-2297, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central. Someone there will be happy to assist you.
