“Make Sure It’s Secure®” is the core message of Gun Storage Check Week, which will run June 1–7 during National Safety Month and again September 1–7 during Suicide Prevention Month. Thanks to tremendous support from the industry, this firearm safety awareness week has reached tens of millions of gun owners with the lifesaving reminder of “Make Sure It’s Secure.”
Said one gun owner, “I saw ‘Make Sure It’s Secure’ on a highway billboard and realized I needed to do a better job of storing my guns in my home.” With increased support this year, we plan to reach millions more gun owners, reminding them to consider their firearm storage practices and do their part to prevent unwanted access — just as this owner did.
NSSF® asks all industry-related companies and individuals to help promote this simple yet lifesaving message to their customers and online audiences. “Make Sure It’s Secure” can help prevent firearm accidents, thefts, suicide and misuse — and it shows non-gun owners that our industry is out front promoting firearm safety and responsible firearm ownership across America.
