Suicide Prevention Advocate Kass Wojcik Opens Gun Safety Dialogue

Kass Wojcik is a suicide prevention advocate who has opened up gun safety dialogue in order to address some of the misinformation surrounding firearm culture. Kass and the NSSF’s Real Solutions initiative are working to extinguish the parallels drawn between the dangers of mental illness and those of gun usage.

September is Suicide Prevention Month and a tremendous reminder of the importance of mental health and proper gun safety. In an age where spiritual stamina is required, but trained less and less, the battle for individual meaning and worth ebbs and flows. Just as strong values and principles have the ability to be used for incredible good or harm, so too can the tools of justice, and guns are no exception.

Kass’s awareness of the care and support within the firearms community became apparent through the tragic passing of her mother, and through her exposure to her husband’s military background. Without these outlets advocating care and experiential knowledge, Kass might never have been aware of the meaning to be wrought from collaborating with others through the powerful responsibility of firearms use and ownership.

Kass is just one benefactor of many that now understands that gun sports are becoming more renowned for their growing informative efforts than they’ve ever been for demotivating the isolated. If fact, through the NSSF’s Suicide Prevention page, readers can be equipped with knowledge and conversations around the topic to help friends and family. Foundationally, gun owners can have access to information on different types of gun storage to keep them out of improper hands entirely.

The NSSF’s Real Solutions provides useful and empowering tools and information to aid, not harm, gun users. Additionally, they understand the value of the community to be found in firearm enthusiasm. Apart from their desire to impact those knit to the gun community, there’s a lasting desire to help and quell those battling harmful ideations. September is a month of help to some of those that need it most.
