Olympic medalist Kim Rhode addresses RNC

Rolla, MO — (Women’s Outdoor News) — Five-time Olympic champion Kim Rhode joined several past Olympic medalists in support of the Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, at the final night of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., on Aug. 30. Rhode introduced fellow Olympians, who included Michael Eruzione — captain of the 1980 hockey team that defeated the Russians’ team, and Derek Parra, the first Mexican-American to medal in the Olympic Winter Games in 2002 in 1500 meter speed skating. Rhode spoke about how important it is to get “on target” and to have proper coaching to do so. Leadership comes in many forms, she noted, and attributed her success to her parents and coaches.
