Fox River® commemorates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with online sale on women’s socks

10.19.2010– OSAGE, IA — Fox River, the company that pioneered socks made just to fit women, announces an October promotion to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month. All women’s socks are priced 30% off this month on foxsox.com. And a portion of the proceeds from each sale in the women’s line will, as always, be donated to organizations that fund research into the disease, awareness, screenings, prevention and programs to support those who are living with it.

“We care about women,” said Fox River Vice President Becky Lessard. “Beyond the fact we all have mothers, sisters, daughters and friends we care about, Fox River employs more than 100 women.” she added. Fox River was the first sock manufacturer to have a women’s fit in socks nearly a decade ago and have always donated a portion of the proceeds from the line, as much as 5%, to breast cancer awareness and research.

Women also have unique health concerns. “It’s critical that people understand breast cancer and how to detect it,” Lessard said. “This is why a portion of the proceeds of every women’s sock sold is donated to one of these organizations.” Fox River hopes the 30% off sale will generate additional proceeds for donation this month.

In the past year, organizations and events such as Breast Cancer Fund Heroes Celebration, Breast Cancer Fund Peak Hike, Chip in for a Cure, Mercy Medical Center Cancer Center, Mitchell County Regional Health Center and the Valdez Fishing Women’s Derby – Annual Fox River Sock Toss have been the beneficiaries of donations from Fox River. Each event and organization helps generate funds and awareness for breast cancer research and programs. This year, programs Fox River has been involved with have raised over $15,000. Remember this when you’re shopping for socks this month either online at FoxSox.com — you can help make a difference in women’s lives while you save 30%.
