California Becoming an Outdoors-Woman: The bad news first

It is with great regret that I have to tell you that we are cancelling the multi-course workshop at Wonder Valley Ranch for 2011. The dates were to be October 7-9th. This is the first time we’ve ever had to cancel this workshop and trust me when I tell you this decision was not made lightly. The unhealthy economy has hit everyone and we are no exception. Donations have declined to almost nothing this year and the Beyond BOW workshops have barely survived. We depend on the success of the topic-specific workshops to help us afford the multi-course workshop and enrollment has been way down this year. Of course I will refund any registration fees and deposits to those who paid in advance.

Even though we have to cancel the multi-course workshop we still have three very exciting events left for 2011: the Fly Fishing Clinic at Bidwell Ranch near Burney, CA, September 16-18; the Steelhead Fishing Trip on the Trinity River near Weaverville, November 4-6; and the Pheasant Hunt near Williams, November 19th. Please log on to our website to learn more.

I want to thank all of you for supporting Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, California. You are not just BOW participants; you are my friends. I am very thankful.

On a more positive note, we are planning a Fundraiser and hope to have it in the Fresno area. I will let you know when and where and how to get tickets. It may be sometime in February or March. AND, we are planning on resuming our multi-course workshop in 2012 possibly at a different , more affordable.

Thank you again for your support. Please keep in touch.
