The Alaska Defenders of Freedom in association with the Valley Armory and Snow Shoe Gun Club are excited to announce the first Women’s AR-Build in Kenai, Alaska, on November 22, 2014.

Scott Hamann, founder of Alaska Defenders of Freedom and a community-minded metal artist and fabricator, has a long history with promoting the Second Amendment through raising funds for organizations such as the Friends of the NRA as well as supporting Women on Target events. Scott was interested in launching this event in order to make instruction available to women who desire to expand on their knowledge base to not only be able to handle and shoot firearms but to be able to build and maintain them.
“The future of our shooting sports, hunting heritage, and our very right to own firearms depends on the women of our country,” said Scott. “The AR-15 is the perfect platform for women to learn from as the AR-15 can be configured in so many different ways and can be put together economically.”
Cost to participate is $1,000. All participants will receive and build an AR-15 with special engraved aluminum lower receiver and DPMS Oracle Kit. Participants will be instructed on proper assembly of their rifle and must be able to pass a NICS background check. The cost for participation is $1,000.00.
