Shoot Like A Girl and Women’s Outdoor News teamed up to take this iconic photo of women who love to participate in shooting sports and who value the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, and their right to defend themselves and their families. The photo was taken during the recent National Rifle Association’s Annual Meeting, at the Shoot Like A Girl’s booth, in front of its mobile range unit.
These 2 powerhouse brands succeeded in capturing nearly 100 ladies who embody women gun owners in America. How many “types” of women do you see in this one snapshot? You can easily see short, tall, young, middle-aged, senior citizens, Olympic athletes, industry reps, women’s shooting group reps, Hispanic, Native American, Asian, African American, Caucasian, etc. You won’t see these descriptions, but they were in the group: Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative, professionals, stay-at-home moms, housewives, rich, middle class, struggling to make ends meet, married, single, widowed, divorced, assorted religious backgrounds, grandmothers, moms, daughters, aunts, and … the list could go on and on. The point being that the shooting sports are an activity, a lifestyle that welcomes everyone, and it just doesn’t matter what you look like, where you’re from or what you do to participate. Visit any range or a shooting event in your area, and you’ll find women that are ready to welcome you with open arms, just like those women in this picture.
This is the inaugural year to create this photo, and Shoot Like A Girl and Women’s Outdoor News plan to capture a new photo next year, too, at the NRAAM in Indianapolis.
