Revisited: What to Do with Your CC Gun after a Run

Being vigilant and confident when carrying means doing so securely, comfortably and often; consequently, this implies toting a firearm even during partitioned blocks of exercise. It does not take long on such ventures to get back to center; however, what can easily be overlooked is properly securing your concealed carry after these necessary sessions. It’s a labor of love to tend to family matters, particularly at the close of lifting weights or going for a run. Take the extra minute to properly secure your gun.

Becky Yackley, competitor in 3-Gun, USPSA, and Bianchi pistol, teamed up with Women’s Outdoor News (The WON), the NSSF and Project Childsafe to raise awareness and education on firearms and safety. In Becky’s review on what to do with your concealed carry gun after a run, she takes into consideration the never-ending responsibilities of the competent woman. She targets not only a woman’s well-being within, but also,  her slew of external obligations that keep the train moving. Becky stresses the importance of carrying in general and touches on great habits and different methods of storage that can be mirrored efficiently and with safety.

What to Do with Your CC Gun after a Run

I recently wrote a piece for The WON about running with a gun, and there is another piece of that self-protection mindset that we should make sure we cover: storage. Part of carrying a gun when you run, walk, hike, or otherwise leave your house and chose to be armed is securing it when you return home.
