Do you like to shoot Five Stand, Sporting Clays or Trap, but dread the soreness and bruising you experience later that day, the next day or even the day after that? Do you ever shy away from shooting your shotgun to avoid the abusive recoil? Well, ladies, keep reading because I found a great product. […]
As an avid angler, I respect the dangers of the sport and am a strong advocate for use of a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) when on or near the water’s edge. Conditions on the water can change at a moment’s notice, and having the right PFD is essential for survival. That being said, as a woman with […]
Comfortable and durable are the two words that immediately come to mind about the new contoured and hand-crafted neck slings from Vero Vellini. Earlier this year I was generously provided a bounce-absorbing Air-Cushion neoprene Vero Vellini Binocular/Camera Slings to use and review. Vero Vellini had me at the phrase “bounce absorbing Air – Cushion.” As […]
Here at The WON, we’re all about getting “little women” involved in the outdoors. They are the future of our industry, after all. As an employee of Prois Hunting Apparel, I am lucky to have the majority of our apparel to try out in the field. I can speak from experience when helping our customers pick which items best suit their needs and advise them on temperature ranges, layering systems, camo patterns, and all other concerns and needs as they arise. Though it hasn’t yet been scientifically proven, I am a firm believer that wearing camo fishing improves your ability to move in closer to the fish in many situations. Read my suggestions on layering Prois apparel for comfort in extreme fishing conditions.

As a matter of fact, the first time I donned them was in 1992 when I joined the US Army. I have never met a soldier who did not like BDUs. I cannot say the same about the Army dress uniforms (yuck). With evolution of the Internet and some research, I was able to determine that Propper International, Inc. manufactures BDUs for the military. Just a warning though, there are other alluring products on Propper’s website. Enter at your own risk.
